The first three hours of the 24 Hours Of Le Mans are in the books. The big story of the weekend is the Peuguot/Audi battle in LMP1, but the Corvette, and Risi Competizione team from the American Le Mans Series are also trying to make some history.
The Aston Martin Racing team has completed the warm up for this year’s Le Mans 24 Hours. The two Gulf liveried factory DBR9s – numbered 007 and 009 – will start from fifth and fourth respectively on the GT1 grid.
The 24 Hours of Le Mans is a sports car endurance race held annually since 1923 near the town of Le Mans, Sarthe, France. Known as the Grand Prix of Endurance, it runs on a circuit containing closed public roads that test a car and driver’s ability to be fast and be able to last over a 24-hour period.
American viewers can catch the action on SPEED TV. Unfortunately, unlike the old Speedvision days, there isn’t full 24-hour coverage.
