Billy Joel Shea Stadium concert had a full orchestra playing everyone’s favorites. First announced as the Last Play At Shea but then he added a second show to became a double header. Billy sang the National Anthem to a packed audience with diehard local fans. I was really expecting Billy Joel to wrangle up much better special guests than Don Henly, John Mellencamp, John Mayer and Tony Bennett for the first of two final shows at Shea Stadium. Night two is Friday.
And we’re sure that the shows will be special, with a unique set list, tributes to his inspirations (rumors swirl about Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr appearing together with him) and special guests.

Souvenir
I always said that it would be cool if Billy opened with Piano Man, which he did on the very first show of the tour. Maybe he should open with it again or move it into the middle of the lineup like he used to do. …
I think Souvenir would be a nice closer… It’s got a nice ‘ending’ vibe that I think would be an almost emotional sendoff to Shea. And he left out Ballad of Billy the Kid!
I guess there has been no word about Elton for tonight.
The set list was great, crowd was great, Billy was great although he did look very very tired towards the end of the concert. You could tell he was really hot but did not disappoint one bit.
Billy Joel Shea Stadium Set List…
I haven’t heard Billy Joel music for a long time but this sounds like a great concert and a big farewell party to a popular artist. Some of the guests at the show would be great to see. I’m not a big fan of Billy Joel sound and I’m past the stage of…
It wasn’t a fairwell to Joel. It was a fairwell to that piece of crap stadium.
