I first saw shots of the Scion Hako concept car a while ago and immediately saw that it was a change in design directions. The Scion Hako is unlike any other car you might have seen and different from the other Scion car models.

Scion has come up with a real humdinger design with the Hako. As you may know Scion is a subsidiary of Toyota but is its own line of dealers for Scion cars. The Scion Hako joins its other strange bedfellows as a concept vehicle so far, but will it ever see production?

The Scion Hako may not see the light of day beyond the auto show salon but Scion dealers are probably waiting with bated breath to get them in their own showroom door.  A new Scion like the Hako would be a big boost to their lineup.

But will the Scion Hako appeal to many people? Scion put out the Hako as a concept to gauge the reaction to its radical design. And react they did.

Some people commented that the Scion Hako was the ugliest thing they’d seen in a long time.

Many others hailed the Hako a brave new coupe for the next generation. Whatever you think, it certainly draws a reaction, and that is what Scion and the Hako coupe is supposed to do.

Scion dealers may have to wait awhile before getting a Hako and so will you. Scion has not released any information on when the Hako will be produced or when it will hit dealers lots.
